WP8 – Communication and Dialogue in Geosciences
Overview
Effective communication is essential to maximise the societal impact of geoscientific knowledge. WP8 strengthens communication skills and dialogue between science, policy and society.
Scope and Activities
Training covers science communication principles, audience engagement, visualisation, storytelling, digital media, communication of risk and uncertainty, and media relations. Participants develop communication-focused Return-to-Work Plans and practical outreach products.
Capacity Building Approach
WP8 combines interactive workshops, practical exercises and real-world communication scenarios, promoting sustained dialogue at national and regional levels.
What the Work Package Delivers
The work package improves visibility and impact of geoscientific information, strengthens science-policy-society dialogue and enhances outreach capacity within Geological Surveys.
