The aim of the Work Package Geohazards and Environmental Management of Mines (WP-E) is to perform multi-module and multidisciplinary theoretical and practical training on assessment, identification and monitoring of geohazards (natural and anthropogenic), prevention and mitigation of hazardous consequences of mining and promote best practices of Environmental Management of Mines.
WP-E will provide methodologies to African Geological Surveys for analysing vulnerability and risk in order to provide local authorities and involved stakeholders useful tools for mitigating the impacts of natural and human-induced hazards.
